School and nursery

School

Children from Flavigny-sur-Ozerain attend the primary school in Darcey, from nursery (petite section) through 5th grade (CM2). Darcey is located 8 km from the village.

A school bus service is available for students to commute to school, and even to return home for lunch in Flavigny if parents prefer, though school lunch service is provided in Darcey.

The schools operate within the framework of a SIVOS (Intercommunal School Union), which manages the facilities and staff assigned to the schools (either directly or provided by the municipalities) and covers all school-related expenses. The member municipalities contribute financially to the operation of the SIVOS.

The municipality of Flavigny-sur-Ozerain belongs to the "Chemin des écoliers" Intercommunal School Union. You can find more information on the Darcey Town Hall website.

This union brings together the municipalities of Lucenay, Gissey-sous-Flavigny, Flavigny-sur-Ozerain, Hauteroche, Corpoyer-la-Chapelle, La Villeneuve-les-Convers, and Darcey.

Collège Alésia (Middle School)

Collège Alésia welcomes students from Flavigny from 6th grade through 9th grade (6e to 3e).

A school bus service is provided in the morning and evening. On-site cafeteria facilities are available.

Lycée Anna Judic (High School)

Lycée Anna Judic in Semur-en-Auxois welcomes students starting from 10th grade (seconde), or at vocational CAP level as part of its Bernard Loiseau hospitality school.

Intercommunal Daycare

Children aged from 10 weeks to 3 years old are welcomed at the intercommunal daycare center run by the Alésia-Seine community of municipalities in Venarey-les-Laumes.

Playgrounds and Recreational Areas

For toddlers and young children, a play area is open in complete safety at the heart of the "Jardins sous la ville" (see map).

For older kids and adults, a tennis court located near the brewery allows aspiring French Open players to practice for global tournaments! (see map)

During the October (Toussaint) and February school holidays, art and discovery workshops are offered to local children and young visitors alike. These activities give them the opportunity to explore various forms of expression, meet up, and build friendships over time through hip-hop, theater, percussion, animated filmmaking, pottery, printmaking, and more.

These high-quality workshops are led by professional artists and craftspeople.

Swimming Pools and Sports Activities

The Montbard Aquatic Center (located 18 km from Flavigny) welcomes you year-round. You can check opening hours and rates on the Amphitrite Aquatic Center website.

The outdoor swimming pools in Vitteaux and Verrey-sous-Salmaise are open during the summer months.

MJC Venarey

MJC Jacques Prévert - Venarey-les-Laumes

The Youth and Cultural Center (MJC) of Venarey-les-Laumes is an essential part of the social and cultural facilities serving the entire community.

Founded in 1964, this Non-Profit Popular Education Association (Law of 1901) is affiliated with the French and Regional Federations of MJCs, as well as the Departmental Union of MJCs.

It is located near the middle school and the Debussy Rostand elementary school. The premises—including the rooms where various activities take place (community rooms, gymnasium, village hall, etc.)—are provided free of charge by the municipality of Venarey.
